Without question, Facebook is a dominant factor not only for socialization, but also for promoting a business. While some people may not like some of the tactics used by Facebook, it is certainly not a smart move to dismiss using this marketing tool. Many of us, including yours truly, have a Facebook page and profile set up. If you are involved in business, but do not have both set up, it is time to rethink your strategy now.
Yes, it may take some time to build a following, but there are methods to help. Take the example of those involved in an MLM, or Multi Level Marketing, company. For those of you on this path, you’re well aware of trying to get family and friends to buy the MLM product you are promoting. It is certainly not an easy process. However, when it comes to Facebook, you will likely find it is easier to get help from family and friends. A big reason for this is because you are not asking them to buy a product or service. One thing that is helpful is to ask family and friends to share your page and profile with their Facebook friends. Also, post something on their wall…especially a relevant business conversation. Make sure to answer questions and add any extra information to keep posts fresh and relevant. You’re in business, so get in there and interact. Ask family and friends to interact with you and post questions and comments about your business. Also, you likely have good relationships with some of your Facebook friends. Don’t overlook asking them for help and be sure to return the favour for them as well.
The purpose of Facebook is to create social bonds. Your goal should be to get readers, lead them to being business prospects, and continue building your business. No matter which methods you use to market yourself, you must provide good, and honest, content and never dismiss the importance of doing so.
