Online Strategies

Most people involved in web marketing accept the fact, although often begrudgingly, that fresh content is needed frequently on their website or blog. Although I have met people who don’t mind writing, including some who actually have a flair for it, most people I know find the process to be difficult for a variety of reasons. Even so, it is important to forge ahead and keep writing. Doing so will help you improve your skills and build content on your blog or website. This is really important if your goal is the be among those with top level page rankings. Indeed, coming up with fresh content is worth your time.

Let me clarify something that you may not be aware of. Google likes fresh content. So do the other search engines, including Yahoo!, Bing, and AltaVista. But when it comes to fresh content, it doesn’t necessarily have to be written content. It simply needs to be some form of new content. So, yes, “content is king,” but you have more than one option.

Videos Are Really Useful

Videos are a nice addition to blog posts. In addition, some videos will take the place of what you are trying to type. Videos help people get to know more about you. Another option is to use images. There are an enormous amount of images available through Google Images, along with Wikipedia, and Yahoo Images, among others. Adding appropriate videos and/or images to a blog or website post is a great way to add fresh content. These options also attract more readers to your website or blog. In turn, this will increase your page views and bounce rates. Google is “fed” with fresh content and your readers get a nice visual image or related video to supplement what you are writing. What a nice way to cover more than one base at a time.

Keep in mind that you cannot get away with simply posting a video and/or a photograph. You do need to write something to accompany the videos and photographs you will be using. It is important to note that you do not have to write exceedingly long posts each time. Shorter text, with some type of visual image, is equally effective as a longer post that is simply text. The main thing is mixing quality content, proper images or videos, along with interesting comments. These methods will help attract new readers to your blog and keep current readers coming back. In addition, the search engines will continue to be well “fed” and happy with your efforts.
