It is nice to get visitors to a blog or website. For beginning marketers, it is especially exciting. However, this feeling often fades quickly because raw traffic rarely leads to making a sale. While it’s good to get traffic to your website, much more important are the factors of conversions and ROI. Please note that ROI commonly stands for “Return on Investment.” However, for internet marketers, ROI also stands for “Return on Influence.”

This is where return rates and bounce rates become a factor. These numbers show me if my blog and website content is enough to keep people coming back. Keep in mind that most people, even those who return more than once, will likely not buy anything. Yes, it’s disappointing, but it is not uncommon.

That’s why it is important to give visitors to your website or blog a reason to return. If someone visits your website, but leaves quickly and does not return, this means you’re not providing a good enough reason, or giving them incentive, to come back. When visitors quickly leave your website, the bounce rate goes up. The bounce rate is for the rate (or number) of people who leave your website before clicking any links within it.

The Return Rate Is Important

Getting people to come back is a main goal of mine. Of course, I also like to achieve low bounce rates. A good goal for this would be below 60 percent. The advantages of having someone return to your website for items including new products, new information, and new opportunities is awesome. If someone comes back to your website or blog, the chances of making a sale improves greatly.

These factors, when handled properly, give people reasons to return over and over. I prefer the e-mail newsletter. It is my favourite because it is easy to manage and once readers opt in, it is easy to get visitors to return to my blog or website. You too have the opportunity for the same types of benefits. Sending quality content to the readers’ e-mail address is certainly beneficial.

Conversions Take Time

It takes time for most websites to build up high conversion rates. It is important to create viable reasons for readers to come back to your website or blog more than once. Of course, you will also handle split testing and revising your copy, among other items, as well. Giving visitors the incentive to return to your website will certainly increase your boost conversions per lead. As a result, it is hoped you will receive the additional benefit of making sales as well.
