One of the many benefits of the internet is the options available for getting a website in order. Not only are there many choices…most are either free or at least low cost. Here are some of my favourite destinations when it comes to sprucing up a blog:
WordPress Themes
WordPress.org-This is the official site. It has a seemingly endless amount of free themes which are uploaded on a regular basis. Please note that if you have technical problems, you’ll have to fend for yourself, as there is no support.
RocketTheme.com-When it comes to blog/website themes, these are not only attractive, but also versatile. Yes, they’re more expensive, but worthwhile.
ThemeForest.com- The themes are premium, but the cost is substantially lower than other similar websites.
Easy Does It
MiniSiteGallery.com-You may have no time, or interest, to pursue being a minisite user. If so, you may want to reconsider. This website has lots of free templates, including many basic themes that are free of charge.
Elance.com or Getafreelancer.com-Both of these companies offer affordable, and original websites. Prices vary depending on your needs, but are reasonable.
You may be waiting for a high end programmer and web design company to build a website for you. That’s fine. It’s certainly a worthwhile investment. I will admit, of course, that I recommend doing this above all. Meanwhile, for those on a budget plan, keep in mind the image you are trying to promote while you build up your business. Keep it simple. Be sure to add fresh content on a regular basis.
