Online Strategies

When it comes to world of the internet, the importance of a blog cannot be overstated. My blog is one of the best parts of my internet marketing treasure chest. A huge benefit of having an active blog is the fact that fresh content is added on a regular basis. That’s something the search engines really like.

I love my blog. It has allowed people to get to know me and I am grateful for the continued interest. However, this took time to achieve. I have some favourite methods designed to increase the number of readers and subscribers to a blog.

1. Focus On Your Blog- You may be working on several smaller projects that are distracting you from working on your blog. These smaller projects may not be making you any money. If so, put them on hold. Get back to the business of building and improving your blog.

2. Quality content-Be creative. Add in polls, videos, links, and how-to posts to gain new readers and to keep current readers interested and coming back.

3. Don’t Overlook Posted Comments-Be sure to respond within a day or two of a comment, or comments, being posted. Don’t respond to spam comments. If someone posts a legitimate comment, and perhaps a link of their own, respond promptly. Let people know you’re an active blogger.

4. Make Your Blog Stand Out-Don’t overlook the value of customization. Pay a designer for a custom graphic.

5. Link To Other Sites-Link to related, highly ranked websites. This will improve your chances of getting links and pingbacks from those websites.

6. Post Interviews-Options for this include podcasts, videos, or text format. You may also use guest posts. Interview high level people, and up and coming people, in your niche.

7. Be Interactive-Readers will become more attached as you share more of yourself. Do this though the use of videos, images, and podcasts.

8. Link To And From Fellow Bloggers-Contact other bloggers for information on how to get on their blog rolls. Of course, make sure you have a full blog roll.

9. Use Serial Posts-A series of posts will not only help you gain links from outside sources, but current readers will keep coming back to learn “the rest of the story” from you. Consider your niche and write about a topic within it at length. Check spelling and grammar, of course. This is a good way to improve your blogging skills.

10. Guests Posts-These are a fantastic way to garner readers from other websites. In addition, it will help your page rank. Keep in mind, however, that you’ll need to forge relationships with these blog owners. I’ve mentioned the importance of guest posts previously.

These are some ideas. Of course, there are many others. I hope these tips give you some ways in which to quickly improve your blog’s quality.

Above all of these tips is the fact that quality content is the number one factor of a successful blog. You cannot dismiss the importance, or personal satisfaction, of a high quality blog you build with fresh content.
