Most everyone involved in online marketing realize that video marketing is a continually changing process which has no set guidelines. It is important to be ready to revise and adapt your online marketing strategies as needed. This way, you will not only be able to get your videos out before the public, you will also generate traffic on your website.
Each time I complete a video, I use the following video optimization methods:
Video Branding: Make sure everyone who views your video knows where it came from. In other words, brand your video. It does not matter whether it is your website, your name, or a product, make sure people know it is your brand. One option is to use a small watermark or subtitle. Many people do this right before the video begins. Others have the branding throughout the video. I personally think branding throughout is best. This way, no one will steal your video and put it on his or her website.
Video Length: Keep your video length to 2 to 3 minutes. Highlight the main items. If you have a website, for example, be sure to mention this. If mentioning the website does not fit with the flow of the video clip, don’t worry. You may add it as a subtitle during the video branding process by adding subtitles. Another option would be to list the information along with the description of your video.
Abundant Text: Use keyword rich text in your videos. This helps more of it to indexed by Google. Technology is available to pull text out of videos. This technology will only keep improving, so it is important for you to keep up.
Video file names: If you are able to upload your video to your own server, be sure to use a descriptive file name. This is difficult, of course, with sites like Metacafe, Google video, or Youtube.
Audio clarity: It is crucial not only to have good video quality, you must also make sure the audio is high quality. It does no good to upload a video that has a subpar or unclear audio track.
Video optimization is more than a necessity in online marketing. It is definitely becoming the most valuable and effective marketing method. Don’t waste a potentially massive source of traffic….make the most of your online video marketing efforts.
