Most people with a blog and/or website are looking to build their rankings among the various internet search engines. Some methods are more tedious than others. For now, it is time to cover backlinks and comments on blogs. Both are easy methods, which may be highly effective….as long as you follow the proper guidelines.
When it comes to making comments on blogs, keep in mind that you are much more likely to increase traffic back to your website by posting your links within your target audience. For example, if your website or blog deals with gardening and landscaping, make comments on these types of websites. Don’t waste time by making a comment on a blog or website that is completely unrelated to what your blog or website covers. Leaving backlinks to your blog/website on too many unrelated websites will negatively affect how the search engines view such links.
Building backlinks from other websites is helpful because it improves your status within the search engines. Always keep in mind the importance of quality when it comes to your business building activities.
When it comes to making a comment on a related blog or website, try and be one of the first to comment. This way, it is much more likely that your comment is going to be read each time. Remember, whenever a blog post is read, a lot of people will scroll down the page. If your comment is at, or near, the top of the page, it is likely that what you have written will “see the light of day” much more frequently than if your remark shows up the following pages. When you are writing a comment, keep it to the point. After all, you are not writing a blog post…just responding to one. Before posting, proofread what your have written. Make sure any links you include work properly. Keep away from adding something that is generic or “spammy.”
Don’t dismiss these great opportunities for building a relationship with readers of another blog, along with the host of that particular blog. Bottom line…don’t be shy. Be professional and courteous. Show that you are actually a real person….not some type of “spam commenting factory.” Spam comments on blogs are nasty, not appreciated, and diminish any credibility you may have.
Set aside time each day for this process. Bookmark high quality, and related to your niche, blogs and websites. There likely are many of them, so don’t settle for just a few. Keep building your internet presence daily.
